Beachy Head
Inspiration for this piece is the devastating acceleration of coastal erosion along the Sussex coast due to rising sea levels. The cliffs along this shore are a crucial habitat for many species, especially seabirds.
This collection of Porcelain lachrymatories are suspended from a naturally rusted steel shelf by hemp cord and held in place by porcelain eggs. Some bottles have been raku or smoke-fired. Various found objects have been included as stoppers for the bottles.
